Welcome back to school! I look forward to seeing both students and parents in the library media center this year. Please feel free to stop by any time to visit our quiet community learning space.

Our collection of books is growing and continues to improve. Titles include contemporary young adult books, award-winners, graphic novels and many student-requested titles! This year, we will be getting magazines for students to enjoy during library visits.

The Scholastic Book Fair will take place the week of October 14 — get some early holiday shopping done and support your school library media center at the same time!

Students who are interested in the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl can check out the 2013-14 book list here. I will be making further announcements regarding our preparations once the school year kicks off.

If you are available to volunteer in the media center, please let me know. We can always use help at the circulation desk or assisting students with literature, technology and research. Any adult guidance is valuable! Come teach and learn!
